About Us

White Mountain Youth Hockey, Inc. is a nonprofit organization providing ice hockey instruction and statewide league play to children and youth in the Central New Hampshire area*.

The goal of White Mountain Youth Hockey is to provide children with the opportunity to learn and play ice hockey at a level of competition that is appropriate for their ages. We want our players to enjoy the game, learn how to be part of a team, and improve their skills.

White Mountain Youth Hockey offers two types of programs. Beginning skaters start out with the Learn To Skate and Play Hockey program, where boys and girls ages four and up learn the basic skills of ice skating and hockey. This program begins in mid-November and continues until mid-February, with two 45-minute practices per week.

The Travel Team program is designed to improve skating and hockey skills of Mite through Midget age players. Boys and girls aged six to eighteen practice twice per week, and each team plays approximately 30 games per season with other teams in both the Granite State League and Seacoast Hockey League of the New Hampshire Amateur Hockey Association. This program begins in mid-October and ends in early March.

Practice for the travel teams begins in mid-October. Practice for Learn To Skate and the travel teams, as well as home games for the travel teams, takes place at the Plymouth State University Arena in Holderness, New Hampshire. Membership in USA Hockey is required for every player and coach.

Board of Trustees

The current Board of Trustees of White Mountain Youth Hockey is made up of nine members. An annual meeting is held each Spring at the end of the season. Board meetings are held monthly with few exceptions.

Volunteers

In addition to our nine-member board, WMYH also calls upon the efforts of many volunteers to keep our program running. Positions include President, NHAHA Delegate, Alternate Delegate, Ice Scheduler, Referee-in-Chief, Registrar, Treasurer, Communications Specialist, Equipment Manager, Coaches, and Team Managers.
